It is no secret that I love Charlotte Tilbury and her cosmetics. From the packaging to the formula, I just want to put it ALL on my face.
I’ve written about my love for Bitch Perfect before as well the best selling Pillow Talk lip liner, well shit the bed she’s only gone and released a Pillow Talk lipstick! OMFG! Along side Pillow Talk Charlotte has released a second new shade called Valentine. Obviously I needed them both and ordered them as soon as they launched.
JUST LOOK AT THEM!!
Pillow Talk forms part of the Matte Revolution line. It is a pinky – nude that is a your lips but better colour, combined with the pillow talk lip liner it is an excellent combo to cheat your way to fuller looking lips. Charlotte’s Matte Revolution lipsticks are all really comfortable to wear and never feel drying
Valentine is part of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G line, it is a soft petal pink that is so pretty and ethereal. The K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula is extremely comfortable and feels moisturising. The colour applies well and doesn’t feather into any fine lines.
Below are a some quick swatches – top is Pillow talk and bottom is Valentine. On the Charlotte Tilbury website you can also view her lipsticks on models with 10 different skin tones and hair colours which is just fabulous if you are unsure.
Both shades are currently exclusive to the website which you can find here you always get loads of samples from CT too which is lovely and the packaging they send orders out in is just stunning, the little details are not over looked.
So I finally got my laptop back from repair and I’ve invested in a fancy new camera which means this post that I had been planning for aaages can finally happen and hopefully the photos will appear (slightly) better than my previous ones however, I’m still not completely au fait with all the settings so I’m sure they are not quite pro looking yet! Anyways enough of me rambling on and lets talk about this beauty………….Isn’t she gorgeous?!
I fell in love with Charlotte Tibury products on my first visit to the counter in Leeds which you can read all about HERE
The latest collection by Charlotte is inspired by the iconic images of Norman Parkinson, the 1975 red lipsticks is part of the Miss 1975 collection is a limited edition of the Matte Revolution range and is a stunning orange/red. The packaging of course is chic and glamorous, as all Charlotte’s products are. The texture is quite firm but highly pigmented and lasts for ages. With it being matte I did worry about it being very drying but this isn’t the case at all. I do find however that the shape of the lipstick straight out of the bullet is quite awkward to work with so I do tend to use a lip brush to enable me to get a good clean and precise application.
It’s quite pricey at £23.00 but it is limited edition and it is stunning so if you fancy a red lipstick and a treat (you know you deserve one!) then I would recommend you check this one out. Its perfect for summer and really compliments such a wide range of skin tones.
You can buy the lipstick from the Charlotte Tilbury website HERE
If red isn’t your thing I recently reviewed a nude lip colour again from Charlotte for a guest post which you can read HERE.
You probably have seen the recent Burberry Kisses campaign ALL over Twitter recently – it was probably one of THE best campaigns I’ve seen in a long time. If you are sat here reading this and thinking “what is she going on about?” then let me update you. As part of the campaign you could nominate a friend via Twitter to receive a free sample of a Burberry Kisses lipstick…..pretty cool right?
I bagged myself a sample in the shade Sepia which is a stunning antique plum shade. The packaging is just stunning – I was expecting it to just be a little sample in a generic plastic holder but Burberry have actually produced these in the same packaging the read deal comes in and the lipstick even has the Burberry pattern all over it.
The Burberry Kisses range comes in 28 shades and cost £25 each. The formula is gel based and hydrating as it contains Burberry’s signature tea blend along with lavender and rosehip. It’s a buildable colour meaning one swipe and its more of a natural look but two to three swipes and we are talking full on colour. The packaging features a magnetic closure which personally I like the security of this especially like me you chuck your lipstick in your handbag and hope that the top doesn’t come loose!
My personal favourite shades from the range are Poppy Red and bright coral. If you fancy treating yourself to one of these beauties then you can buy them from the Burberry website.
Finally it seems the warmer weather is slowly arriving here in the UK and at the first sign of sun I start moving on to Spring/Summer make up colours. I’ve had a look through my collection on lip proucts and picked out what I’m sure will be my go to shades this year.
