Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave review

Fortune favours the brave

I’ve wanted this palette for a while now even though I have 3560 others. When Jane AKA British Beauty Blogger teams up with a brand you know she’s put her heart and soul into making it the best she can. The main reason why I was drawn to this palette is the fact it’s a little different to a lot of the other options out there are the moment, I mean who needs another all nude palette?

I love that the packaging is gold rather than Makeup Revolution’s usual choice of black, I love that there are baked, shimmer and mattes all in one and that there are endless looks you could create. I think it also it appeals to everyone, regardless of age. Now I am not going to lie the brush you get with it is crap, they always are, but it does have a lovely big, clear mirror which is always a bonus!

As always, Makeup Revolution and Jane have managed to pull it off when it comes to formula. The baked shadows are my favourite and really do deliver with the pay off. The shades are easy to blend and for a high street option the fall out is pretty good. There are a couple of the lighter shades which you do have to work a little bit harder with to get a really good pay off but to be honest for £9.99 that is forgiven.

I’ve swatched a couple of the shades below just to give you an idea, that baked navy is stunning!

I love the fact that with this one palette you can create looks that range from barley there, golden goddess to dark, heavy and smoky. It really covers all the bases. As soon as I got it I decided to have a playaround and create a pink/purple, shimmer sort of look which I really liked. It lasted really well throughout the day too. I used Creme, Pink Diamond, Drama Queen and New World. (Excuse the eyebrows, I am well over due a good old wax!)

For under a tenner this is an absolute bargain and I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup, as you may know are sort of sister brands and they have just launched a new website where you can order both brands so no more having to split order or pay for two lots of shipping! AMAZING! You can find Fortune Favours The Brave HERE or you can find it at Superdrug.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and I’d love to hear from you if you’ve already got this palette or if your thinking of buying it.

Phee’s Make Up – Eyeshadow Trio

This post is probably the most overdue in the whole blogging world as it was meant to be up 5 months ago. I know, I know FFS Claire!!

Anyway – Phee is bringing out more and more brilliant products on the regular now. Everything is handmade and Phee works so hard to get the shades exactly how she wants them. They are also cruelty free and vegan.

This eyeshadow trio is made up of “Peppered” a golden taupe “Sphinx” a copper and “Polilla” warm duo chrome brown.

As the eye shadows contain no fillers what so ever the colour pay of is second to none. I love using Peppered for daytime as its such a pretty light golden shade perfect for inner corners of the eyes but my favourite has to be Polilla….I mean its duo chrome, who doesn’t love a duo chrome?

Here are some swatches and fyi there is no primer or anything else on my skin, this is all Phee’s product and nothing else! SO pretty

You can buy the eye shadows individually at £6.50 each or all three for £15.50. You can find the site HERE

Don’t forget to also check out the Glow highlight powder she does it’s just AMAZING!

Make Up Revolution Iconic Pro 1 and Iconic Pro 2

If there is one brand that keeps getting better and better its Make Up Revolution, I fell in love with the brand when I made my first purchase from them which you can read about HERE. They always shock me with their quality products at amazingly affordable prices in sleek packaging.
I’ve been lusting over the Iconic pro 1 and 2 palettes since they announced them. I didn’t think their eyeshadow palettes could get any better but they some how have! The formulation of these is great – think buttery soft with fantastic pigmentation that blend out like a dream. In fact I’ve had some high-end eyeshadows that have been less impressive than these. Fall out wise there is a little bit nothing major, I actually experience more fall out from my Naked palettes than these!

Each palette contains a good mix of matte and shimmer shades with a double ended eyeshadow brush. I love the fact that the inclusion of the double ended eyeshadow brush makes then perfect for travelling and it’s not one of the awful sponge applicator that no one ever uses! Shade wise each option contains a great mix of neutrals along with a few deeper dark shades and even some navy, greens and hints of purple. It great to see something different rather than the all neutral options that seem to be everywhere at the moment.

I’ve seen a few bloggers compare these palettes to the Lorac ones which if like me you’re in the UK are really difficult to get a hold of so I’d say treat yourself to these instead….you could by both and still have change left over than if you purchased one Lorac palette.

Also loooook at the highlight palette that’s in the background of the pictures, it’s so pretty! Another offering that Make Up Revolution have spoiled us with and is a snip at £8.00!

If you are yet to try anything from Make Up Revolution then I urge you to splash a bit of cash and invest in a couple of items. You will be hooked after your first order I promise you!

Thanks for taking the time to read this post – let me know if you enjoyed it.
