Beauty Must Haves

I’ve recently noticed that I tend to re-purchase and constantly reach for the same products time after time so I thought it would be fun to show you all my beauty must haves that I swear by. There is beauty and skin care, high end to high street (drug store if your in the US).
Make up must haves. Estee Lauder foundation, maybelline mascara, The body shop bronzer

Revlon Photo Finish Primer £12.99
I love this primer, it really helps blur imperfections and creates a soft canvas ready for foundation. It’s always on some sort of 3 for 2 offer in Boots so it’s incredible value for money too.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation £27.90 – £31.00
I mix two shades 1W1 Bone and 2N1 Desert Beige to get a good match, for me there is no foundation like it. Medium coverage but build-able to full, it lasts all day and is perfect for oily skin.

RCMA No Colour Powder £8.95
Loved and adored by some of the top make up artists, this no colour powder is finely milled and will not adjust the colour of your foundation. It sets everything in place and a little goes a long way.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder £13.00
I’ve used this bronzer for the past 2/3 years and adore it. It’s matte and comes in a variety of shades so there is an option for such a wide range of skin tones.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof mascara £5.99
I love the Benefit Rollerlash but hate the price tag, this does just a good a job at a fraction of the price. I prefer the waterproof version as I find it holds a curl better.

Avene Cleanance cleansing gel £8.25
If I don’t use this cleansing gel after taking my make up off with an oil my skin seems to go into melt down. Its probably the product most responsible for making my oily skin and breakouts manageable. I do not know what I would do if they ever decide discontinue this.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip liner in East End Snob £3.99
Rimmel do the best lip liners, better than MAC and lots of other high end brands in my humble opinion. East End snob is a pretty dusky pink that is super versatile and it goes on so creamy with no dragging.

NARS Creamy concealer £22.50
It’s pretty expensive for a concealer but its worth every last penny. It lives up to the creamy hype and covers under eyes like a dream. I buy these in multiples as I can’t bear the thought of running out.

KIKO longlasting eyeshadow stick £6.90
Love, love, love these stick eyeshadows from KIKO. I have them in a few shades and they are perfect for a quick eye look. They blend out really well with a big fluffy brush and are really long lasting. I think KIKO have a 50% off offer on these at the moment too so I’m off to buy more!

Clinique Pop lip colour
I have two of these fab lippies, Mocha Pop and Blush Pop. I adore them both, they pack a punch with pigmentation, go on smoothly with no dragging and last quite well. For £16.00 I think they are pretty good value for a mid/high end lip product.

So there is my must haves, I could go on but I’ll round off and leave it at ten.

Let me know your must haves

Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave review

Fortune favours the brave

I’ve wanted this palette for a while now even though I have 3560 others. When Jane AKA British Beauty Blogger teams up with a brand you know she’s put her heart and soul into making it the best she can. The main reason why I was drawn to this palette is the fact it’s a little different to a lot of the other options out there are the moment, I mean who needs another all nude palette?

I love that the packaging is gold rather than Makeup Revolution’s usual choice of black, I love that there are baked, shimmer and mattes all in one and that there are endless looks you could create. I think it also it appeals to everyone, regardless of age. Now I am not going to lie the brush you get with it is crap, they always are, but it does have a lovely big, clear mirror which is always a bonus!

As always, Makeup Revolution and Jane have managed to pull it off when it comes to formula. The baked shadows are my favourite and really do deliver with the pay off. The shades are easy to blend and for a high street option the fall out is pretty good. There are a couple of the lighter shades which you do have to work a little bit harder with to get a really good pay off but to be honest for £9.99 that is forgiven.

I’ve swatched a couple of the shades below just to give you an idea, that baked navy is stunning!

I love the fact that with this one palette you can create looks that range from barley there, golden goddess to dark, heavy and smoky. It really covers all the bases. As soon as I got it I decided to have a playaround and create a pink/purple, shimmer sort of look which I really liked. It lasted really well throughout the day too. I used Creme, Pink Diamond, Drama Queen and New World. (Excuse the eyebrows, I am well over due a good old wax!)

For under a tenner this is an absolute bargain and I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup, as you may know are sort of sister brands and they have just launched a new website where you can order both brands so no more having to split order or pay for two lots of shipping! AMAZING! You can find Fortune Favours The Brave HERE or you can find it at Superdrug.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and I’d love to hear from you if you’ve already got this palette or if your thinking of buying it.

How to heat proof your make up

It would seem that summer has finally reached the UK at long last, today while out on my lunch break it was 30 degrees C *Desperately tries to refrain from saying “SCORCHIO!”* With the heat comes a battle of keeping your make up in place and from melting quite literally off you face.

Here are my top tips to help your make up last as long as possible while the sun is out.

heat proof your make up

1.Prime – A primer may not be part of your usual make up routine but it will help smooth out the skin. Pick a mattifying primer to keep excess oil at bay and lock your base in.

2 Keep it to the minimum – Keep everything to the absolute minimum. No one wants 4569 layers upon layers of product on their skin at the best of times never mind in the noon sun.

3 Choose the sheerest formula base you feel comfortable with No, I’m not saying go from a thick full coverage cream foundation to a BB cream, I am a full coverage kind of girl myself, but try something slightly lighter than normal. For example switch Estee Lauder Double Wear for their Double Wear light option and conceal where needed.

4. Waterproof mascara is a must Pandas are hella cute but no one wants to look like one during a 12 hour shift at work. Moisture will cause non waterproof counterparts to run so pick up a waterproof version and you can thank me later.

5. Blot and then powder If you have oily skin then midday shine can be a massive pain in the back side. If you reach for the powder before taking away the oil then your going to end up a little bit cakey. Blot paper is your friend, gently blot away excess oil and moisture away and then gently powder.

6 Setting spray Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray locks in your look like no other. It is one of the best products out on the market and worth every penny. Spray this over your finished look 2-4 times in a T formation and it will help keep you looking fresh all day.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any tips and trick to help your make up keep on your face. I’m off to go melt in a corner.

Origins Mix and Mask box

The face mask gods that are Origins have done an amazing collab with the wonderful Jane aka British Beauty Blogger. I’m a bit of a secret face mask junkie and love nothing more than slapping one on and having a quiet 15 minutes with a tea in silence and no one does a mask quite like Origins. I’m already a super fan of their Drink Up masks for a big moisture boost so when I saw Jane tweet about this for £20.00 I was on it quicker than Beyonce can say “single ladies”

The box itself is fantastic value for money at £20.00 and comes with about £80ish worth of product plus a £10 voucher. Face mask by origins

Here is a run down of what you get

Maskimizer Skin Optimizing Mask Primer – This is a primer for your face mask. This wonderful light marine algae spritz is the perfect way to prep your skin to get the most from your face mask. I also like to use this when a clay mask has set but I fancy getting a little bit longer out of it, simply spritz all over and the clay will re-soften.

By all greens foaming deep cleansing Mask – Jane describes this as a green juice for the face. It contains green tea, spirulina and spinach in a clay base. Its starts off liquid then bubbles into a foam. Super strange but really gives the skin a deep clean and a boost.

Drink Up Intensive overnight mask – A hero product in my eyes. It really helps plump the skin and give some thirst quenching moisture.

GinZing peel off face mask – This bronze face mask promises to bring some ZING back into dull complexions. You peel this off your face after it has dried which my inner 6 year old loves. We all did the PVA glue on the hands thing didn’t we?

VitaZing SPF energy boosting moisturiser – I love a proper base and shy away from the lighter side of things so I am excited to try this to see if it can sway me. It is self-adjusting so there is no awkward picking the wrong shade here and it also had the added benefit of giving the face a radiant finish while protecting it with SPF 15.

Mask Pods – There are 4 little one time only mask pods, I LOVE these! Super cute and ideal to travel with. You get a Drink up 10 min mask, Clear Improvement mask, Out of trouble and Original Skin. There is something here for any problem days and to get your skin back to best.

I am so impressed with this box. I genuinely cannot wait to try some new products from Origins and spend the £10 voucher. The drink up mask will forever have my heart but I love the new Maskimizer as it feels so light and refreshing on the skin.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed seeing whats included in the Origins box, I know it sold out pretty fast! Latest in Beauty do some amazing boxes and I am hoping to get my grubby hands on the summer glamour box next.
