Create a Look – 70’s

Hiii,

First of all let me apologise – this post is a couple of days later than usual as I totally forgot and got caught up in life and work so I’m sorry!!

So last month Gemma and I created a 60’s inspired look as part of our beauty through the ages collaboration so obviously this time around we are in the 70s. I think sometimes the 70s get forgotten about as the sixties and eighties where both so iconic in both very different ways. For me when I think of the seventies two looks come to mind one being that Farrah Fawcett glowing, natural California girl vibe and the other being the first few years of Studio 54 all glam, over the top disco dancers and generally excess! Its easy to see which theme I went for in my look.

Here is a list of products that I used to create my 70s-esque look –
Base – Bourjois Healty Mix foundation in 52 Vanilla.
Body Shop honey bronze in 02.
Estee Lauder pure color blush in Peach passion and Lovers Blush
Brows – Illamasqua eye brow cake in Thunder
Lips – MUA intense colour lip liner in Red Drama
Urban Decay Super Saturated high gloss lip colour in Punch Drunk
Eyes – Make Up Revolution focus and fix eye primer.
Make Up Revolution Redemption Mattte brights palette in shades 3,11 and 12
Essence metal glam eyeshadows in Jewel up the ocean and lucky grasshopper
Essence Kajal pencil in beach bum and feel the mari-time
Ilamasqua medium pencil in Debonair
Benefit Roller lash

I really like this look that I put together I just wish I had put lashes on as I think it would really have looked loads better. Also my lips looked really glossy in a red/orange colour but it just hasn’t picked up as good as I would have liked on camera. Bright eyeshadow is something that I’m usually a little scared of but I think in the future I need to be a bit braver as for the right occasion it would look fab.

Please stop by Gemma’s blog to see how she took inspiration from this decade.

See you next month for the eighties!
