Good Things Manuka Honey Daily Moisturiser

Regardless of your skin type you need moisture, yes even if your oily, moisturising is still an important step in any skin care routine. If you skip this step your skin will dry out and in turn start to produce more oil and contribute to blocked pores as well as breakouts. While the thought of lathering your face with a thick night cream might send you running for the hills and have you worried about break outs well fear not. The Good Things Manuka Honey Daily Moisturiser may just be the answer to your needs.

GOOD THINGS MANUKA HONEY MOISTURISE

This lightweight deeply hydrating mosituriser contains royal jelly and beeswax. Bee venom helps to boost collagen while propolis and manuka boast antibacterial properties. It doesn’t contain any of the following nasties: mineral oil, parabens or sodium laureth sulphate as well as being suitable for vegetarians. Obviously if you are allergic to bee stings you would need to avoid this but if, like me you adore the smell of honey you will love this.

The moisturiser has got the balance between being creamy but not too thick just right, I find its easily absorbed into the skin and leave my face feeling supple, hydrated and just a bit healthier. I slot this in my morning routine after I’ve cleansed and also in an evening after the usual double cleanse and tone. I’ve been using this now for around 10 months and I’ve re-purchased this every time its ran out as its so affordable and does what it says on the label.

GOOD THINGS MANUKA HONEY MOISTURISE

You can buy Good Things Manuka Honey moisturiser from Boots for £7.99 for 100ml. I have also been able to spot this in a few TKMaxx stores for just £3.99 so it really offers amazing value. The only thing which I dislike about this product is the face it comes in a cardboard box which is not needed and just a waste.

Dinkibelle Nail Wraps: Easy nail designs + Giveaway*

The lovely people over at Dinkibelle were kind enough to send me some gorgeous nail wraps. I love having nice nails and usually get acrylics with gel polish so the nails wraps were intriguing to me. I was also skeptical about if they would actually work.

Each packet contains 20 nails wraps and cost £6.99. The wraps are fairly easy to apply, simply stick them to your nail and file off the excess. They do recommend that you add a clear polish or gel top coat to your nails to make them last as long as possible. Removal is super easy, peel off or use polish remover.

My first attempt was passable, to be fair I did them in a massive rush late at night and they still turned out wearable. I had many compliments on my nails, how pretty the looked and how did I get them so sparkly?! The option I’m wearing is Sea Foam Sparkle. They lasted me a good 10 days before I decided to take them off, If I’d have taken my time and put a proper gel top coat on then they would have lasted 14 days easily, if not longer. I did try to put them on my toes but I couldn’t get a file in to file around the edges of my nails so ended up with them on my big toes only. In hindsight I should have cut the wraps to smaller pieces rather than just stick them on too big and try to file them. Oh well, I know for next time don’t I?

Beauty Must Haves

I’ve recently noticed that I tend to re-purchase and constantly reach for the same products time after time so I thought it would be fun to show you all my beauty must haves that I swear by. There is beauty and skin care, high end to high street (drug store if your in the US).
Make up must haves. Estee Lauder foundation, maybelline mascara, The body shop bronzer

Revlon Photo Finish Primer £12.99
I love this primer, it really helps blur imperfections and creates a soft canvas ready for foundation. It’s always on some sort of 3 for 2 offer in Boots so it’s incredible value for money too.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation £27.90 – £31.00
I mix two shades 1W1 Bone and 2N1 Desert Beige to get a good match, for me there is no foundation like it. Medium coverage but build-able to full, it lasts all day and is perfect for oily skin.

RCMA No Colour Powder £8.95
Loved and adored by some of the top make up artists, this no colour powder is finely milled and will not adjust the colour of your foundation. It sets everything in place and a little goes a long way.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder £13.00
I’ve used this bronzer for the past 2/3 years and adore it. It’s matte and comes in a variety of shades so there is an option for such a wide range of skin tones.

Make up must haves. Estee Lauder foundation, maybelline mascara, The body shop bronzer

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof mascara £5.99
I love the Benefit Rollerlash but hate the price tag, this does just a good a job at a fraction of the price. I prefer the waterproof version as I find it holds a curl better.

Avene Cleanance cleansing gel £8.25
If I don’t use this cleansing gel after taking my make up off with an oil my skin seems to go into melt down. Its probably the product most responsible for making my oily skin and breakouts manageable. I do not know what I would do if they ever decide discontinue this.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip liner in East End Snob £3.99
Rimmel do the best lip liners, better than MAC and lots of other high end brands in my humble opinion. East End snob is a pretty dusky pink that is super versatile and it goes on so creamy with no dragging.

NARS Creamy concealer £22.50
It’s pretty expensive for a concealer but its worth every last penny. It lives up to the creamy hype and covers under eyes like a dream. I buy these in multiples as I can’t bear the thought of running out.

Make up must haves. Estee Lauder foundation, maybelline mascara, The body shop bronzer

KIKO longlasting eyeshadow stick £6.90
Love, love, love these stick eyeshadows from KIKO. I have them in a few shades and they are perfect for a quick eye look. They blend out really well with a big fluffy brush and are really long lasting. I think KIKO have a 50% off offer on these at the moment too so I’m off to buy more!

Clinique Pop lip colour
£16.00
I have two of these fab lippies, Mocha Pop and Blush Pop. I adore them both, they pack a punch with pigmentation, go on smoothly with no dragging and last quite well. For £16.00 I think they are pretty good value for a mid/high end lip product.

So there is my must haves, I could go on but I’ll round off and leave it at ten.

Let me know your must haves

Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave review

Fortune favours the brave

I’ve wanted this palette for a while now even though I have 3560 others. When Jane AKA British Beauty Blogger teams up with a brand you know she’s put her heart and soul into making it the best she can. The main reason why I was drawn to this palette is the fact it’s a little different to a lot of the other options out there are the moment, I mean who needs another all nude palette?

I love that the packaging is gold rather than Makeup Revolution’s usual choice of black, I love that there are baked, shimmer and mattes all in one and that there are endless looks you could create. I think it also it appeals to everyone, regardless of age. Now I am not going to lie the brush you get with it is crap, they always are, but it does have a lovely big, clear mirror which is always a bonus!

As always, Makeup Revolution and Jane have managed to pull it off when it comes to formula. The baked shadows are my favourite and really do deliver with the pay off. The shades are easy to blend and for a high street option the fall out is pretty good. There are a couple of the lighter shades which you do have to work a little bit harder with to get a really good pay off but to be honest for £9.99 that is forgiven.

I’ve swatched a couple of the shades below just to give you an idea, that baked navy is stunning!

I love the fact that with this one palette you can create looks that range from barley there, golden goddess to dark, heavy and smoky. It really covers all the bases. As soon as I got it I decided to have a playaround and create a pink/purple, shimmer sort of look which I really liked. It lasted really well throughout the day too. I used Creme, Pink Diamond, Drama Queen and New World. (Excuse the eyebrows, I am well over due a good old wax!)

For under a tenner this is an absolute bargain and I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup, as you may know are sort of sister brands and they have just launched a new website where you can order both brands so no more having to split order or pay for two lots of shipping! AMAZING! You can find Fortune Favours The Brave HERE or you can find it at Superdrug.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and I’d love to hear from you if you’ve already got this palette or if your thinking of buying it.
